Upcoming Documentary on Christians and Homosexuality

I’m curious about the For the Bible Tells Me So, trying to not jump to conclusions based on the summary. As I find out more, I’ll probably blog about balancing love & grace in reaching out to love the people Jesus loved AND truth & life-change-growing along the walk as a Jesus follower.

Wow. I might have to get HBO. I read the blurb. I even wish the guy was right.

Alex, I’m just curious, If gay marriage was legalized would you ever be open to the idea that a married same sex couple was not (and I’m not sure how to phrase this so I’ll go with an old chestnut) “living in sin”?

That question, I realize, is unavoidably clumsy, and probably seems like I’m setting you up for something. I’m not. I’m just curious.

Insightful question Pat – I’ll expand this in a fresh post, but short answer is I would still consider a married-by-the-state-or-religious-institution-that-endorses-same-sex-marriage same sex couple as “living in sin” because the status in the eyes of the state is irrelevant to sin.
The habitual liar-gossip or exploitative-materialist is also “living in sin” even though they are legal in the eyes of the state (barring slander or Sarbanes-Oxley), and maybe even celebrated in the eyes of culture.

Last question: Regarding homosexuality being a sin, you aren’t persuaded by any scripture based arguments to the contrary?

No (and this doesn’t need to be the last question). I’m posting an insightful website that does a solid job of presenting two sides of the issue “homosexual activity is sin.”
