Passwords – opening

Posted in MCC resources tagged at 11:15 AM by alexlozada

passwordsNo, this post doesn’t have information about hacking, cracking, encryption, the NSA, etc. — though I hope to write more about practical tech topics like that in the near future. Amidst yet another weekend of winter storms in the NorthEast, Ben Cachiaras started MCC”s new series on the Lord’s Prayer, entitiled “P4S5W%®D$” The first message, “Lord Teach Us to Pray” went through some revisions because MCC cancelled several services, losing the opportunity to record the message video we normally use at the Bel Air and Edgewood campuses. Instead, Ben spoke live at the Mountain Rd campus; Luke Erickson spoke live at Edgewood; and Ethan Magness spoke live at Bel Air.

Here is a PDF of the Adult Groups team recommendations for the Passwords series. This is the YouVersion / BIble.com Event and study guide for this weekend’s message.

Clinging to God Through Life’s Darkest Days

Posted in MCC resources tagged at 11:24 AM by alexlozada

Clinging-to-God-LukeFrom the congregation’s perspective, most of the weekends, the nine services at three different campuses (Mountain Rd, Bel Air, Edgewood) are similar: the same service order and songs (though each campus’ worship does have their own “flavor”), similar messages (recorded video of the Mtn Rd Sat 505p at Bel Air and Edgewood). I post the message-based study guide and YouVersion / Bible.com Event to be usable at any of the services, or with the online video or audio. On special occasions, there is live preaching at all three sites, or the MCC choir sings at one of the campuses.

Sunday evening, technical difficulties meant that the behind-the-scenes team scrambled to set up large screen TVs for song lyrics, etc. Luke Erickson, worship team, and tech arts team adapted wonderfully — and the worshippers, including four Lozada’s, experienced the comfort of the Good Shepherd.

Trading Human Indecision for God’s Guidance

Posted in MCC resources tagged at 5:09 PM by alexlozada

Ben Cachiaras opened this weekend’s message with his annual “random Bible verses predicting big game outcomes” — accurately in this case 🙂 On the serious side, in “Trading Human Indecision for God’s Guidance,” he reminded us to seek God’s voice because sheep hear the Shepherd’s voice.  To learn more, check the YouVersion / Bible.com event notes or group study guide.
