Conversation on History of Islam

Posted in better disciples at 6:07 PM by alexlozada

I attended a thought-provoking “Conversation on the Iistory of Islam,” led by MCC member Joseph Butta. He’s a published author (The Dawn of Islamic Literalism) and presenter on Islam and Christianity, and other religious history topics. This was one of the last Ethan Magness‘ official spiritual-formation-coordination events, but my participation was motivated by more than merely teammate loyalty 🙂 Joe B used many orignal source references and plenty of historical facts. Thanks to my Cincinnati Chr U history professors (Jim North and Sherwood Smith), I already had some familiarity with the material, but the evening was a good reminder of how different Christian discipleship is from life under sharia.
