Veterans Day (USA) 2019
Many worthwhile veterans-related articles today; some of my favorites:
Heroes of a Generation: OSS spy Martin Gelb, 100, fought behind enemy lines (Boston Herald)
“Moved By Compassion, Jesus Put Forth His Hand And The Leper Was Healed” ‘Here’s the backstory to the amazing encounter of a hurting Hill aide and a searching Vietnam veteran’ (HillFaith)
“Why I Wear a Poppy” (blog.kalda.ca)

Alma mater closing, more thoughts
Though I might have noticed this anyway because I’m interested in the changing landscape of American higher education, it’s particularly meaningful with the impending closure of my alma mater, Cincinnati Christian University. “Their colleges closed — but their student loans didn’t disappear. Then, they sued.” (Chicago Tribune)
My daughter and fellow CCU alum tweeted “just because the antique store closes (contextualizing for ya 😉) doesn’t mean you still don’t owe the credit card debt you racked up on a sick furniture find”
